2.1 Project Overview: Written Analysis
























The objective of this achievement standard is to provide you with knowledge and skills to approach the subject matter/theme “domestic cloth” with an extensive range of concepts and ideas.

You will gain an understanding of the compositional conventions, themes and genres specific to the discipline of photography through research, written analysis and group discussion.




Task 1 Learning from Established Practice


• Group Work (in-class): select, discuss and analyse one image from A3 example sheets provided. Use the prompts from the "Analysing Artworks" sheet to help you compose your answers. (one class)



Task 2 Artist Models: Anne Noble, Lilo Raymond and J John Priola

• Individual Work: Analyse one image from each artist model provided on the analysis template provided. (three total)

Remember to refer to prompts from the "Analysing Artworks" sheet.

Task 3 Individual Enquiry

• Individual Work: Pick two photographs (from other sources) where the artist has explored similar subject matter and analyse on separate templates.
(two classes and homework)
